Discover Miss Martha's Creative Nature Based Early Education Program
Where Great Minds Are Born
Miss Martha’s primary focus is to lay the foundation for the children to become lifelong learners in a ECE program that is filled with discovery, exploration, excitement and enthusiastic hands-on learning. Children will be the focal point of all endeavors stressing academic, mental, emotional, physical, and social development in a home like environment where all feel supported, respected, appreciated and safe.
When we expose children to different environments and various learning experiences, we allow them to explore their self-awareness and gain a sense of the world around them. Once they leave Miss Martha's Creative Nature Based Early Education Program, they’re fully prepared for the next stage of their young lives.
About Miss Martha's Creative Nature Based Early Education Program
Our School
All of our activities and lessons are child-centered, making it possible for all children to participate at their own level and in their own way. We are a multi aged center providing care for 8 weeks to 5 years of age. By having a multi aged classroom older children can model more sophisticated approaches to problem solving, and younger children are able to accomplish tasks they could not do without the assistance of older children. This dynamic increases the older child’s level of independence and competence. Children are also more likely to cooperate than compete. The spirit of cooperation and caring makes it possible for children to help each other as individuals, not see each other as competitors. By providing a supportive environment, we make sure each child receives exactly what they need.

Characteristics of the Outdoor Classroom

-
Most activities that can be done indoors can be done outdoors. Some activities occur best outdoors; some can only occur outdoors.

-
Children spend substantial periods of time outside, and it is easy and safe for them to get there; they are free to move easily between the indoors and outdoors.

-
There is a full range of activities for children to participate in, including many activities that are traditionally thought of as “indoor activities.”

-
The outdoor space offers a balance of areas for physically active and less active play.

-
While outside, children frequently have the opportunity to initiate their own learning experiences and activities, with teachers available to support them.

-
The outdoor curriculum evolves from and changes with children’s changing needs and interests.

-
Children experience nature in as many ways as possible.
